He works with firm principles, designers, and project teams in leading the integration of BIM technology within the firmβs digital practice and operation strategies. Dr. Mallasi is passionate about the crossover research of Emergent Technologies and Design. This is demonstrated in his achieved research work which focuses on: computational design, performance driven design, parametric modeling, 4D visualization and energy analysis.
Dr. Mallasi accumulated 12 years of expertise as an Architectural Design BIM Specialist passionate about BIM-based project design and delivery. Previous work experience includes firms like: Bond Bryan Architects, Perkins + Will, Zaki Farsi, AECOM working on K12, Healthcare, Government and Aviation project. Dr. Mallasi also worked Six years as an Assistant Professor in the College of Architecture and Design, Effat University. There, he taught subjects like design studios, energy & design, BIM/Revit, advanced parametric modelling, professional practice, building materials and techniques.
Originally from Khartoum, Sudan, Dr. Mallasi received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Khartoum, and also completed his Masterβs degree on the Virtual Environments from the Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, University College London focusing. Then he received a UK-funded PhD scholarship from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to complete his PhD research in 4D-BIM in Architecture and Construction from the University of Teesside.
Dr. Mallasi is one of the founding member and past President of the Arab Society for Computation in Architecture, Art and Design (ASCAAD.org). He published around 20 publications and served as member of scientific committees and editorial boards for several international journals and conferences.
