Kinetic Responsive Facade Prototype

The advancements in Digital Design Computation (DDC) have emerged as essential support for research and development when seeking contemporary architectural facades. This project intends to tackle three critical challenges:

(1) To develop a revolutionary approach to harness in real-time the responsiveness mechanism of future smart facades. On this basis, a “dynamic” visualization approach for responsive façade is proposed that combines BIM and receptor technology to generate self-updating Virtual BIM and Physical models.

(2) To investigate the properties of the physical facade prototype requirements in alignment with the industry standards, functional, and practical requirements.

(3) To provide architectural design professional and educators with practical approaches when investigating the benefits from coupling BIM with parametric modeling. .
